Coach Nareg Kopooshian
Playing Career
Coach Nareg played College Basketball at Glendale Community College for 2 seasons under Hall Of Fame Coach Brian Beauchemin. He later received multiple offers to play at 4 year schools. After playing in multiple professional basketball combines he was awarded with the MVP award for the NYC Jazz camp and collected contracts to play professionally.
Coaching Resume
Coach Nareg was an assistant coach for the Varsity Boys Basketball Team at Holy Martyrs for 4 years while playing College Basketball at the same time. He has coached Homenetmen Massis youth teams since he was 18 years old and also coached a few travel teams in ARC and AAU which ranged from 8-15 years of age. He also does 1 on 1 training with more than 15 young athletes in order to help improve their game.
Coach Nareg is fully committed to the Rebels Elite program and hopes to make a difference in young elite athlete's lives both on and off the court. His goal is to make their transition to higher levels easier than his own path was when he graduated high school. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s of science in kinesiology.
Coach Mike Tavitian
Coaching Resume
Coach Mike has has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from California State University, Northridge. He has been coaching for 5 years now in Homenetmen Massis and various travel teams. He has also served as an assistant with Coach Nareg for his ARC and AAU teams. Coach Mike possesses a deep passion for the game of basketball and is always finding ways to improve his skills. He has been recruiting for coach Nareg for two years and is constantly in the gym trying to further increase his knowledge with the game’s many nuances. Coach Mike is a considered a gym rat as he personally trains many kids on a weekly basis in order to improve their footwork, shooting, and ball handling.
